Don’t Blink!
I can remember when I was younger, and someone said don’t blink it meant you will miss something. Or if you were at an eye appointment and they were about to drop some drops in your eye they would say don’t blink. As the doctor was about to drop the drops into your eye you would blink. If you blinked, the drop did not reach its attended purpose and landed on the outside of your eyelid. The drops were not able to enter your eye therefore it had no effect on the pupil and rendered no value to the patient. This is just like us if we blink in the face of adversity, we will not reach our intended purpose in God. God made us more than conquers and have not given us the spirit of fear. We must stand strong during trials. Conversely, if we were to leave our eye open and allow the drops to go into our eye it would allow the doctor to inspect your pupil and examine the eye. After careful inspection the doctor will give you the results of your examination.
When we allow processes in our lives to take place organically, we leave room for diagnosis. When we blink you may miss what was intended for you. A lot of times God will tell us don’t blink but we blink anyway. We miss part of what he is trying to convey to us because we blink or turn aside or choose a different path. God is specific in his instructions for us there is no variance in Him. If God were to say don’t blink that may generate an automatic reflex from some to blink. That’s the carnal flesh reaction to a spiritual command. We must not blink in trying times knowing joy cometh in the morning.
Moses asked God to show him his glory in Exodus 33. God told Moses to stand on a rock and God hid Moses in the clift of the rock as He passed by and removed his hand so Moses could only see his back. Hypothetically speaking what if God would have allowed Moses to stand on a rock of his own accord and move into the clift himself? Moses would have probably blinked in the presence of Gods glory and missed the opportunity to see Gods back. God have specific places that he wants us to go i.e., he told Moses to stand in a place by him on a rock and Moses was to be hidden in the clift until God removed his hand from him. This allowed Moses to see Gods back, for no man could look on God’s face and live.
In conclusion, when we are not able to stop ourselves from blinking, we should put on the whole armor of God and render ourselves over to be subject to the Master’s use.
