The missing Ingredient...

The Missing Ingredient…

As the year starts, we must be mindful while cooking for our families. We want to start the year off right aiming to be health conscious. Currently, as we frequent social media more and more, we can access a variety of recipes heralding to be the best, the tastiest down home or fine cooking there is. You can’t go to Facebook without seeing a popup or add in your feed with a delicious-looking dish.

We must be careful not neglect the missing ingredient. If you were to go to your cabinet and move the salt and pepper you are not going to find it there, nor will you find it in the refrigerator. You can run to the corner store, supermarket, Walmart or Whole Foods and you will not find it there.

If you are baking a cake and leave out the baking powder the cake won’t rise. If you leave out the eggs you forfeit the stabilizing agent (Let this mind, be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, Philip. 2:5) if you forget the salt the cake will lack taste (O’ Taste and see that the Lord is good. Ps. 34:8a) and God forbid you forget the flour there will be no structure (And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Rom. 12:2).

A lot of people will say the missing ingredient is love and will cook with love joyfully setting the table and anticipating their family’s reaction. Love is vitally important in preparing your family meal however, prayer is the missing ingredient. I like to think the difference between a good soup and a healing soup is prayer (Be careful for nothing: but in everything through prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be known unto God. Philip.4:6).

I will end as I began, be vigilant regarding incorporating the missing ingredient (prayer) in your everyday life and (pray without ceasing 1Thess. 5:17).

Please let me know the results of your experience with the missing ingredient prayer.

Awesome! We must pray always. It is so important to remember how important such a small effort can make in every area of our lives. Just as you have said; “prayer is the missing ingredient” that makes everything much better.(more tasty, more flavorful, etc…) Thanks for the encouraging reminder.
